Fernland Studios is an experimental ecological arts studio offering rest, rejuvenation, and reciprocity. They offer Black, Indigenous, and all people of color artist residencies, ecological arts funding, and writing retreats at no cost to them and with additional funding, ranging from $1,000 to $2,500, to support their practice. Applications are open until April 8, 2024, at 11:59 pm PT.
Artist Residencies provide space, time, and financial support for artists to explore creative ecological justice—or the use of art to heal our spirits, ecologies, and communities—through their proposed medium remotely from June 14 to August 2: https://fernlandstudios.org/artist-residencies
Ecological Arts Funding is a small grant for cultural producers to propose programs aligning with our mission, vision, and values: https://fernlandstudios.org/ecological-arts
Their Writing Retreat is in-person from July 22-27 at Salishan Coastal Lodge in Gleneden Beach, Oregon, providing people space, time, and financial support to dream and write at the intersections of art and ecology: https://fernlandstudios.org/writing-retreats
Fernland Studios founder and director Zoë Gamell Brown is hosting a programming information session on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 10-11 am PT to discuss logistics and answer questions about our summer programming. RSVP: https://bit.ly/fernland-info
